Leon Megé is against violence. We don't beat our competitor's prices. Instead, we would like to make you an offer you can't refuse.
There is no standardized pricing since our work is not called “standard”. Our business model is similar to any business specializing in a highly customized product, be it a custom designed kitchen or a bespoke suit.
The price we charge for custom designed engagement rings and jewelry depends on many factors, some of them being the type, shape, quality, cut of stones, finger size, metal gauge, etc… That is why we ask you to fill out the Quote Request form in order to give you a rough estimate of the price.
By keeping our overhead low we are able to make couture affordable. At this level of craftsmanship our work is a true bargain. To date we have not seen any competitor produce jewelry at our quality level for the same price. If you are out there comparison shopping we suggest shopping for your jewelry at a local mall where you will find competitive prices and occasionally a juicy close-out. Listing prices in our portfolio is not practical on many levels. Prices are shown on stock items sold on our e-commerce site Micropavé.com.
Images shown in the Portfolio are a presentation of some of the work we’ve done in the past. We cannot show the actual price paid by our previous customers in order to protect their privacy. The current price might also be misleading since no two pieces are identical.
Payment
We offer the following payment options:
Pay by cash.
Pay by personal, business or bank check. Personal checks and bank checks must be drawn from a US bank. We will not accept bank checks exceeding $5,000. A bank check for a larger amount will be treated as a personal check and will have to be cleared prior to crediting money to your account. To clear a personal check takes five or more business days.
Direct wire transfer. To clear a wire transfer usually takes 36 hours.
Pay by Visa or Master Card. 3% convenience fee will be added to the total amount paid (including shipping charges) to cover the processing fees. We cannot accept credit card payments originating outside of the US.
Pay by American Express Credit card. Regular 3% credit card convenience fee would apply.
Pay by Google checkout. We will have to charge 4% convenience fee. Transaction limit $5,000.
Pay by PayPal. 4% convenience fees must be added to the total. Transaction limit $5,000
Direct bank deposit. For bank information please see "Wire Transfer" section on the right.
Payment is not considered complete until it's cleared with our bank. Orders will not leave the shop until paid in full and the payment is cleared by our bank. No exceptions will be made. It's your responsibility to make sure that we have your payment on time. When you send an international wire transfer, we suggest adding $25 amount to the total. Here is why: When banks wire money from oversees they do not send money directly to us. The wire bounces between several banks and each one charges a fee. The amount arriving to our bank is $25 less than the amount you intended to send. You will be responsible for the difference in the amount you owe and the amount cleared by our bank. Our past experience shows that the missing amount averages $25. If it turns out that the amount is less, you will be refunded the difference. We will ask for the difference in the case that the missing amount is higher.
When you write a check and endorse it with your signature, you are saying that the money is there and available to draw upon. A returned check fee of $200.00 will be charged on all checks returned for any reason.
If you don't have immediate funds to make a purchase you can put a deposit (usually 20% of the total price) that will hold your item for 30 days. A deposit is non-refundable.
At Mr. Megé's discretion there is a possibility of extending credit for a longer period of time by creating a schedule of payments. However, we offer credit only in the exceptional cases such as life saving situations or to prevent a major disaster. We do have a special arrangement with leading lending banks in the New York area. We agreed not to loan money and they agreed not to make jewelry.
Custom work requires 50% non-refundable deposit. Any stones purchased from us (such as a keystone or side-stones) with the exception of very small stones (melee) must be paid in full before we start our work. As an exception to the rule if the cost of the stones you have purchased from us is at least equal to the labor amount we do not ask for a deposit.
Wedding bands
Custom ordered pieces such as wedding bands, pieces without center stones, or pieces with center stones of insignificant value must be paid in full in order for us to start the work.
Car system
Every custom order is different and therefore listing an actual price will be completely irrelevant to what the price may end up being.
We don't want to insult our customers’ intelligence by listing a wide range of prices (i.e. $500 to $3,000) or use promotional lingo like “Starting as low at $99." Instead, we use the Car System in order to indicate the relative complexity of each design.
The car system evaluates the potential complexity of work that would entail in the creation. It does not reflect optional costs, such as the center stone.
Sales tax
Residents of New York State must pay 8.875% sales tax.
Residents of Australia please read information regarding Australian-US free trade agreement. It is duty-free to import USA-made goods into Australia. Click here: Duty AU
Wire transfer
Second best option to send large amount of money in a single shot (such as paying for a stone). When time is not an issue regular bank check is always preferred.read more...

Regarding international wire transfers:
Sometimes we receive wire transfers where the total amount we received is less than the amount you were supposed to wire. That's because your bank deducted your fees from the amount that was sent (oversees banks do this more often than American banks). If that is the case it's your responsibility to pay us the difference.
Please make sure that the amount we receive is the exact amount you intended to pay. We will let you know what amount cleared at our bank and that is the amount we credit to your account.
