The Traditionalist
In 1996, the artist founded his present-day appointment-only company which initially opened as a trade-only shop: Leon Megé Inc. Today, Megé caters directly to consumers and personally interviews every prospective client.
He assures that the customer is willing to allow enough artistic freedom to create a piece that would reflect his grand standards of quality and design, all the while giving the customer exactly what they want and need.
Megé earned his Graduate Gemologist Diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
The Innovator
Megé began his path to success in 1981 when he began as a bench jeweler at a state-owned jewelry factory in Saint-Petersburg. In 1987 he packed up his favorite read: jewelry textbook by German master Prof. Dr. Erhard Brepohl and left for New York.
Within a matter of a few days, he found a job as a bench jeweler in New York's Diamond District. Shortly, he was invited to work for one of the most renowned American designers, Henry Dunay. Thereafter, Megé continued his career, working for another master jeweler, before going on to open his own shop.
