Leon Megé, Inc., is proud of it's reputation as an honest and trustworthy business.

We will provide you with a free written quote upon your request. In many cases we provide several quotes for different options and styles*.

Almost immediately after you fill out the form and click "send" an automated email confirmation will be sent to you. All our quotes are processed by Leon Megé personally. It might take a day or two to prepare the pricing for you. If your quote did not arrived within a few days, first search your junk folder and if you still have not recieved it please call us at (212) 768-3868

Pricing format

When you request a quote we usually reply with a form that gives you a conditional price in the following format:

Estimated cost of labor is given as a fixed amount. Labor does include the cost of metal (platinum, gold, etc.) and the cost of setting the stones. It will not include any taxes or shipping costs.

Cost of melee (small stones, usually diamonds) will be listed as additional or included.

Most quotes we send are based on limited information and separating melee and gemstones from the labor grants us a level of precision in pricing and flexibility to adjust the price to a different stone.

Items that are simple to estimate - wedding bands, projects based on stock items or basic designs- will have the cost of gemstones and MELEE included in the total.

Additional vs. Included

Due to the unique nature of custom work when we price a project, in most cases we separate the cost of melee from the cost of the actual labor. This cost will be listed as additional on your written quote.

We calculate a range of an estimated weight based on historical data and provide guaranteed per carat price. The actual amount used in production will not be known until we finish the piece.

We tend to overestimate the potential weight which means the quote's lower range is more realistic.

You need not worry because after the piece is made you will pay only for the actual weight consumed. By multiplying it by the guaranteed per carat price we will know the total which will be added to the labor price when you receive your invoice.

Center stone

After we receive your quote request we will usually try to select a stone that might be suitable for the project. Our Diamond Concierge® will review diamonds with you and propose a stone that might suit your requirements. However, we offer it as a suggestion only. We would like to encourage you to contact our Diamond Concierge® and discuss what other alternatives there might be to consider.

Very often after the conversation with our Concierge people reconsider their center stone requirements and retool their diamond buying budget.

Side stones

Side stones (i.e. in a three stone ring) are usually not quoted. The art of picking the right set of side stones requires matching it to the center. It would be meaningless unless we have your center stone. When we do have it we will hand pick a selection of pairs based on the quality, size, shape and cut of your stone. Ring size, the exact design and your general preferences are major factors in the selection process.

Therefore, the quote usually states that the selection of the side stones is a second step after picking the center stone and only then the price could be discussed. There is no need to worry. You are not obligated to buy anything from us until you know the price.

What's the time frame?

The time frame listed in your quote is an approximate range that might actually change by the time we get the job. We always try to honor the original time frame. However, if you have a certain date in mind please inform us immediately. Quality work takes time and it's in your best interest to allow for as much time as needed to create your piece. In 95% of the cases we are able to guarantee the delivery date. Guaranteed delivery means that the piece will be ready to ship or handed to a customer no later than 5 PM EST on that date.

Delivery date does not take in account any shipping time. It's important to make sure that you have enough time to have the item shipped to your location.

Guaranteed date is an exception rather than the norm and we rarely agree to have it set. Otherwise, you should be prepared for the listed waiting time quoted in weeks.

Pieces with a keystone supplied by us enjoy priority completion time.

Expiration date

The majority of quotes will have an expiration date. Although we always try to honor the original quote, the prices do fluctuate and it's important to get your quote closer to the time
when you are ready to proceed. Please email us for an extension.

Any quote we send should not be considered a promise or guarantee of any kind. It's an assessment of potential costs based on the information provided by you, and is not  guaranteed to be accurate or free from unintended errors.

Best price promise

Leon Megé is on a mission to make the finest jewelry affordable. In the unlikely event any of our competitors are willing to charge less money for a similar project we will match their price dollar for dollar. Just bring in or send us their written estimate and we will gladly lower our price to reflect the current market*.

Help with decision

Sometimes it is hard to decide what style to choose. In this case please call Leon Megé and he will personally guide you through the selection process. It will be more sensible than to just keep bombarding us with various quote requests.We will simply ignore multiple quotes for unrelated products.But before you get mad and dissapointed please call us and talk to Leon - you might be pleasantly surprised with the result.

Retainer

We do limit our customers in the number of quotes we will provide before asking for a commitment in the form of a retainer or by providing a keystone.

You are not committing to a particular design or a style. Until your job is finalized and the work order is signed you are free to consider any design, feature, and/or detail and we’ll send you as many quotes as you need. A retainer is $1,000 which will be used toward any purchase or custom work. We will not be able to refund this amount.
