Sending to us

The best way to send us your stone or jewelry is by US registered mail. It will allow you to insure and send up to $25,000 valued items. In case you need more coverage please consult your own insurance company. In many cases they will insure your package as long as you follow their instructions.

You do not need any special arrangements in order to send your items to us. However, we suggest emailing or calling us just to alert that your package is in transit. We will notify you immediately upon arrival. Please do not send anything scheduled to arrive during our vacation time. Check with us for dates.

Packaging

Use a paper coin envelope or a small zip-lock plastic bag to hold your valuables. Enclose it inside a padded manila envelope.

Write your Customer/Reference number on the list of contents along with your personal information such as name, address, telephone number and email. Seal it inside the envelope as well. small zip-lock plastic bag to hold your valuables. Enclose it inside padded manila envelope.

Use an equivalent of a Fedex medium size box to hold the manila envelope. Put a medium sized box inside a larger box (Fedex sized large). The package should not rattle when shaken. Both must be sealed with security tape along all edges. Make sure to use foam chips, wrinkled paper, wood chips, shredded paper or any other recycled material to fill the gaps.

Please don't

  • Do not write anything outside that would indicate the content of the package.
  • Do not send any ring boxes, pouches, holders or any other items that have sentimental value. We cannot keep track of them and might discard them along with packaging material.
  • Do not send us original certificates. A copy of a certificate is helpful to have on file but is not required.
  • If you are arranging for a dealer or online store to drop-ship your stone to us please provide them with a reference number and make sure they will include it inside the package.

Shipping to you

For your protection, we always:

  • Ship via FedEx only due to a special arrangement where we are allowed to insure packages up to $50,000.
  • Insure and register all items for their full value.
  • Require that all deliveries be made to a physical business or home address.
  • Require an adult over the age of 18 to sign for the package.
  • Orders placed after 3 p.m. on Thursdays will not be shipped until Monday.
  • Ship always overnight.
  • Will not allow Saturday delivery.

Items valued over $50,000 must be shipped via Brinks, Malka-Amit or by a courier. These carriers do not deliver to private addresses, you must use a business address. Sometimes there is an option of delivering your package for a pick up at the carrier's window.

Please remember that shipping insurance cease to exist once the package reached it's destination. So if the package is received by at a place where it will be held for a pickup it's not insured anymore. Unless you are physically present at the moment it arrives, the package is not insured anymore.

For International delivery, please check with your local carrier or contact us for a consultation. Taxes and duties are the purchaser’s responsibility.

Calculate your shipping

The Shipping cost calculator is a wonderful tool when and if it works. Fedex constantly changes the code required to host the calculator on our site.

Please try it and in case it stopped working again just call us and we will calculate shipping directly from our account. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Stay in touch

We will contact you prior to making shipping arrangements to confirm your address, shipping method, and the dollar amount for appropriate coverage.

If you want to wave the insurance because you are under the impression that your own insurance will be covering the loss, or just because you like to entrust large sums of money to people wearing a uniform, we can do that as well. However we will require a written release from you.

British Tea Party

All goods imported into the UK from the US, including goods bought over the Internet, are subject to:

  • Import Duty: as of Oct. 20, 2003 import duty on gold jewelry is 2.5% and is based on the declared value of the goods and the transport costs to the country of destination.
  • Value Added Tax (VAT): currently is at 17.5%. The value for VAT purposes is therefore the declared value of the goods and the transport costs to the country of destination.

UK Customs Fees

Remember that your carrier or import agent (including Royal Mail or Parcel Force) may also charge you fees to clear your products through customs. These range from about £4.00 (Royal Mail) to about £8.00 (Parcel Force) and should be added after the above taxes.

Duty free down under

As it turns out we have a free trade agreement with the Aussies.
