Free in-house appraisal
When you buy or order a custom made piece of jewelry complete with a center stone we will provide you with a copy of in-house appraisal free of charge. This appraisal is necessary in order to insure your item. We encourage you to get your item insured. An independent appraiser is the only accredited professional who qualifies to verify the quality of craftsmanship, materials and gemstones on your behalf. In doing so they act as guardians of your interests.
Some associations of appraisers will award a title to an appraiser as long as the membership dues are paid. A level of membership within an organization could be important. To stay current with changing standards and treatments a legitimate appraiser must be re-tested every few years. Just being a Graduate Gemologist is simply not enough. We endorse the ASA as a legitimate independent organization with strict membership criteria.
Insurance and Appraisal Professionals recommended by ASA
We are not affiliated or paid by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). We are not responsible for any services provided by these professionals. You can visit ASA web site to select a qualified appraiser in your area. In order to stay impartial we cannot endorse any particular appraiser, however David Wolf of Just Appraisers in New York seems to be favored by many of our clients. David is the only ASA appraiser authorized by us to receive and to hold high value items. We offer free complimentary drop off and/or pick up your item should you decide to get an independent report. Certain restrictions might apply. Please ask our Diamond Ambassador® whether you qualify for this benefit.
Important points to consider when choosing an independent appraiser:

- You have the right for the appraisal charges to be explained before the process
- You have the right for explanations of the process and be advised which type of the appraisal works the best in this particular case
- The appraiser will perform a thorough research of the markets for the values needed
- The appraiser will explain the function and purpose of the appraisal
- The appraiser must respect the confidentiality of the client
- The appraiser will keep a record of the appraisal for at least five years
- The appraiser will complete the assignment within a reasonable period of time
- Prior to hiring the appraiser you should call ASA, or any other organization or association where the appraiser claims a membership to verify the claim
- You have the right to complain, in writing, to ASA or other organization if the service you received is not completely satisfactory.
